4th Exhibition Fascination of Classical photograph®
An exhibition of ancient tumuli, cultural heritages and personal activities that give a sense of history, spun into the modern age through classical photographic techniques
– 4th Fascination of Classical photograph® organized by Kumiko Wakabayashi
The Mozu Tumulus Group, centering on Nintoku-ryo tumulus in Sakai City, is a precious cultural heritage that represents the early stages of human history. We can feel a sense of romance and nostalgia as we walk around in their footsteps. In the same way, we can also perceive images of the distant past through the old photographic techniques advocated by Classical photograph®.
This exhibition features works by contemporary artists using techniques from the earliest days of photography to the present time. It is a unique exhibition that offers a comprehensive view of the various techniques known to the public as classical techniques. We have become accustomed to the digital world of today, but what discoveries can we make when we look again at works created 150 years ago using classical photographic techniques?
Please enjoy “dissemination and transmission of classical photographic techniques” at the exhibition venue.
